United Way’s hot wing eating contest set for Friday

United Way of Clallam County’s third-annual Hot Wing Eating Contest is set for 6-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at Coyote BBQ Pub, 201 E. Front St., Port Angeles.
Entry is free to spectate and participants are suggested, but not required to donate $10 to compete. Coyote BBQ is hosting for the third year and will be donating $2 from every beer sold to the United Way.
Participants compete for prizes from local businesses such as Swains, Lazy Soul Hot Sauce, Port Angeles Lefties, 7 Cedars and more.

There is no deadline for entry prior to the event, but once 16 contestants are signed up the registration will close.
The contest will start with four rounds that include four participants and the winner of each round will advance to the final showdown. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each of the first four rounds with a grand prize also given to the winner of the finale.
