The Sequim Equestrian Team earned some top individual and team honors at the squad’s first district meet of the season, held Feb. 27-March 1 in Elma, facing teams and competitors from nine schools ranging from Bellingham to Vancouver, Wa.

Sequim riders took home three first place finishes — Emma Albright in figure eight, Grace Niemeyer in jumping and Lilly Thomas in driving — plus two seconds and 11 top-five placings overall.

The team’s second district meet is set for March 19-22 in Tacoma.
