Peninsula Singers back on stage
The Peninsula Singers, a local community choir, is back on stage after a long layoff with a pair of upcoming concerts.
Titled “How Can I Keep from Singing?” the concerts — highlighting the music of Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi, Duruflé, Rodgers, Lloyd Webber and Williams — are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Sequim Ave. The choir also has an invitational rehearsal at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29.
Directing the choir is Dr. Jerome Wright, and accompanying the choir are pianist Mark Johnson and violist Tyrone Beatty.
No tickets will be sold; donations are gratefully accepted, organizers said.
Audience members are respectfully requested to wear masks.
Stardust Big Band to play for Mother’s Day
The Stardust Big Band takes the stage at Olympic Theatre Arts with classic big band tunes, swinging standards, romantic ballads and more from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
The local group will play tunes made famous by Gershwin, Miller, Nestico, Basie, Sinatra and others.
Tickets are $20, and are available online at olympictheatrearts.org or at the OTA box office (call 360-683-7326 between 1-04 p.m., Tuesday-Friday).

‘Queens & Aces’ at Elks lodge
Enjoy music from local favorite Tess Teel with Mother’s Day dancing with “Queens & Aces,” set for 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road.
Music on tap is “sassy, classy, brassy and swinging tunes” with blues, oldies, standards, cha-chas, waltzes, country and more. Beverages will be available for purchase.
Cost is $12 at the door, $10 for Elks club members showing a valid member card.
