While most people may be familiar with physical therapy for the treatment of knee, hip, shoulder, neck and back pain, over Voris’ long career she has also seen the scope of what physical therapy can offer, program organizers say.
Research has shown the efficacy of a physical approach to improved function, and Voris will explain and offer tips about physical therapy’s role in: fall prevention; injury and spine fracture prevention; bone building; treatment of incontinence, pelvic prolapse, and pelvic pain; and management of swelling and lymphedema.
