Milestone: VHOCC celebrates National Hospice, Home Health Care Month

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County asks the community to join them in offering thanks and praise to the millions of nurses, home health aides, therapists and social workers across the United States during November to commemorate National Hospice and Home Health Care Month.
With more than 10,000 Americans entering their golden years every day, health care needs and costs continue to grow. Home care and hospice help alleviate that financial burden.
“Almost 50 years since hospice care was introduced in the U.S., end-of-life care has spread and become part of the mainstream,” VHOCC Executive Director Priya Jayadev said.
Established in 1978 by Rose Crumb, VHOCC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides hospice and palliative care for free, billing neither insurance nor government entities. The organization operates on donations from the public and private foundation grants.
