In early February, Colleen Robinson, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County, was in the “other” Washington (D.C.) advocating for Federal programs that impact Habitat for Humanity affiliates through funding and programs.

Robinson met with Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-WA) and staff members from the offices of Sen. Maria Cantwell and Sen. Patty Murray during Habitat on the Hill — an annual event in Washington DC hosted by Habitat for Humanity International Government Relations Advocacy Team.

“Advocacy for affordable homeownership is essential for Habitat to continue our work,” Robinson said. “Habitat for Humanity works to increase affordability by influencing policies and system focused on supply and preservation, access to credit, zoning and land use. We work on advocacy issues at the local, state and federal level.”
