Sequim church sets Keepers of the Faith concert
Keepers of the Faith brings the group’ssouthern gospel music to Sequim for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Sequim Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane.
Admission is free; a love offering will be taken, and CDs will be available after the concert.
Keepers of the faith are made up of five vocalists — Lima Taito, Agaese Taito, Faalai Taito, Zephanaiah Taito and Peter Wainaina — who “love to serve God with their talents of singing.” The group has been in ministry for more than 20 years.
City seeks applicants for arts commission
The City of Sequim is seeking applicants to fill a vacant post on the City Arts Advisory Commission. The appointment is to fill a vacancy for a resident that lives within the Sequim City limits.
The position is a four-year appointment and will expire on Dec. 31, 2026.
State law requires applicants must be a U.S. citizen, a registered voter in Clallam County and have three years of residency in Sequim preceding their appointment.
The commission meets at 3 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month in the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.
The position will remain open until filled.

Sound Advice to play at Sequim Elks Lodge
Enjoy an evening of music and dancing with Sound Advice, as the band takes the stage from 6-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, at the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road.
Admission is $12, or $10 for Elks members.
Sound Advice plays Motown, classic soul and rock favorites from the 1960s and 1970s — all dance music for both couples dancing or freestyle dancing.

Tickets on sale for Petals & Pathways tour
The Master Gardener Foundation of Clallam County’s 2023 Petals & Pathways Home Garden Tour is set for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, featuring six of Sequim’s most beautiful home gardens.
All gardens selected have parking, accessibility, diversity in design and creativity, event organizers say. The gardens feature greenhouse growing ideas, vertical plantings, sacred spaces for reflection and relaxation and plant varieties that excel in our Sequim environment.
All the gardens will have seven to 10 Master Gardener volunteers to help with questions on plant identification. A map will be printed on the tickets for this self-guided tour.
Tickets are $15 in advance at local vendors and $20 on the day of the tour.
Tickets can be purchased through June 24 in Sequim at: Over the Fence, 118 E Washington St.; Sunny Farms Country Store, 261461 U.S. Highway 101; and, The Co-op Farm and Garden, 216 E. Washington St.

Proceeds from the tour help to maintain the Woodcock Demonstration Garden in Sequim and numerous Master Gardener community services such as the Youth Enrichment Program (YEP) and educational outreach programs such as the Green Thumb and Digging Deeper presentations held at the Port Angeles Court house and Woodcock Demonstration Gardens.
Music on the Strait announces 2023 season
Organizers of the 2023 Music on the Strait season announced its schedule for five concerts across two weekends, set for Aug. 19-27.
Under the guidance of artistic directors Richard O’Neill and James Garlick, Music on the Strait will be featured at some of the first performances at the soon-to-be-complete Field Arts and Events Hall on the Port Angeles waterfront, as well as two intimate concerts at Peninsula College’s Maier Hall.
Tickets open to the general public on June 1. Beginning on May 20, early and discounted (20 percent off) tickets will be available to those who donate $250 or more in 2023.
The season lineup includes: An Evening with Garrick Ohlsson, 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19; the Takács Quartet in Concert, 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20; Grieg’s String Quartet, 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25; Jeremy Denk plays Bach, 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, and Denk performs Brahms, 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27.
