Soccer referee training

Youth soccer referees are needed around the North Olympic Peninsula and the state.

All referees must be registered with the U.S. Soccer Federation through the Washington State Referee Committee and complete a two-step process.

First, potential refs must take an online course and pass a test at WAReferees.org. Click on “I want to be a referee” and follow the directions.

The second step is to attend a field clinic. A field clinic is set at the Agnew Soccer Fields from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5. The online course must be completed before attending the clinic.

Once both steps are complete, referees can work around the state and register with the Washington Officials Association, which governs high school officials.
