Bunco fundraiser
The Sequim Guild of Seattle Children’s Hospital will offer an Italian buffet prepared by Guild members at its September Bunco Party, to take place on Friday, Sept. 19, from noon to 3 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church 525 N. Fifth Ave. in Sequim.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
Attendees can win prizes and bid on 24 items at the silent auction. The buffet will include lasagna, spaghetti and more plus desserts.
Cost is $15 at the door, and all proceeds go to Seattle Children’s Hospital for research and uncompensated care. For more information, call 360-461-1818 or email sequimguild@gmail.com
Bell-ringing event
The New Dungeness Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution will host a bell-ringing event at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17 as part of Bells Across America, an annual nationwide celebration of the signing of the U.S. Constitution during Constitution Week, which runs from Sept. 17-23.
The ringing of bells will take place at Sequim City Hall Plaza. The public is encouraged to bring their own bells and join in the celebration.
Skin health presentation
Paragon Dermatology is offering “Spot the Spot — Skin Cancer Awareness & Skin Wellness” at Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St., from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18.
Cost is $2 for Shipley Center members and $4 for non-members. All ages are welcome. Proceeds will benefit the Shipley Center.
Dr. Agnieszka Niemeyer will discuss how to recognize common skin spots, identify warning signs of skin cancer, and understand when a spot may need medical attention. Learn the ABCDEs of melanoma, how to practice sun safety, and why early detection saves lives.
Faith news
The Sequim Community Church will kick off its fall Friday Night Live season at 5:30 p.m. Friday Sept. 19.
The free community gathering will begin with a potluck meal in the church’s Fellowship Center, 950 N. Fifth Ave. in Sequim. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to serve eight people.
The meal will be followed by Black Diamond Junction performing classic hits from the 1970s through the 1980s.
