Locals converge this week for treats, rides, rodeos, animals, and more at the Clallam County Fair in Port Angeles.
The fair at 1608 W. 16th St. runs Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 14-17 with gates open 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday.
Kids Day is Thursday with free entry for children up to age 12.
Day passes cost $10 for adults; $8 for seniors 65-79, and students ages 13-17; $7 for children ages 6-12 and active military; and free for children 5 and under. Season passes are also available. Free parking is available, too.
The carnival from Rainier Amusements is open from noon-10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and noon-7 p.m. Sunday.
All-you-can-ride carnival wristbands are available at Dungeness Kids Co. in Sequim, Swain’s in Port Angeles, online at clallamcountywa.gov/399/Fairgrounds, and at the fair.
Cost is $35. The minimum age for children to ride is 2.
Some of the fair event highlights include the rodeo at 6 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday, a logging show at 11 a.m. Saturday, and music throughout the day and night at multiple stages.
The annual Demo Derby takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday with tickets going on sale the same day starting at 9 a.m. at the Lincoln Park BMX Track. Ticket holders must also purchase admission to the fair.
Animal shows take place throughout the weekend.
