Here are Clallam County Environmental Health Services’ inspections for the month of July for restaurants, food stands and catering businesses.
Inspectors visited 25 restaurants and food establishments, and found 15 locations with perfect scores. Four of those were reinspections.
Ten locations were found with varying health and/or retail practice violations. Some establishments corrected measures during the initial inspection. None required follow-up inspections due to the violations.
The following establishments received perfect scores:

• Fresh Wok, 1603 E. Front St., Port Angeles*
• Lincoln Park Ball Field, 1943 W. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles
• Mason’s Resort Inc., 444 Front St., Sekiu
• Southern Nibble, 272434 U.S. Highway 101, Sequim
• Starbucks No. 68183, Port Angeles, 2021 E. First St., Building A, Port Angeles
• Traylor’s Restaurant and Lounge, 3256 E. Hwy 101, Port Angeles*
• Wharf Dogs, 115 E. Railroad Ave., Suite 301, Port Angeles
• Yodelin Broth Company, 122 W. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles
• Walgreens, Port Angeles, 932 S. Francis St., Port Angeles

The following establishments were determined to have a less-than perfect score:
• Taco Bell/Kentucky Fried Chicken, 2001 E. First St., Port Angeles
Violation (3-point deduction): Clean non-food surfaces more frequently to preclude accumulation of soil residues that become encrusted or attract insects and rodents by July 30.
• Taco Time, Port Angeles, 1105 E. First St. Port Angeles
Violation (3-point deduction): Food worker cards needed for all employees by July 17.
• Liquid Sanity Espresso, 17295 WA-112, Clallam Bay
Violation (5-point deduction): Smoothie mixture read at 45 degrees and must be 41 degrees or lower. Correct by July 10.
• Curley’s Resort and Dive Center, 291 Front St., Sekiu
Violation (10-point deduction): Business operating without a valid permit. Required to be corrected by July 14.
• Gordy’s Pizza and Pasta, 1123 E. First St., Port Angeles
Violation (10-point deduction): Handwashing facilities were unclean and not maintained; women’s restroom was out of paper towels. This was corrected during the inspection.
• The Goat and the Radish Catering, 261043 E. Highway 101, Sequim
Violation (10-point deduction): Microgreens found at 58 degrees and should be held at 41 degrees or lower. Must relocate food to a refrigeration unit capable of food storage at 41 degrees or lower by July 19.
• Pacific Pantry Catering, 229 S. Sequim Ave.,
Violation (10-point deduction): Hand washing sink needs a continuous flow tap so both hands can be washed at the same time. Must replace tap by July 19.
• Amelie’s Olympus Hot Dogs, 3216 E. Highway 101 Road, Port Angeles
Violation (15-point deduction): Employees are not properly trained in food safety as it relates to their assigned duties; no catch bucket available under temporary hand sink. Must educate employees on proper handwashing and routinely monitor the employee’s handwashing procedures to ensure they are effectively cleaning their hands. Also have a five-gallon bucket under the temporary handwashing station by July 28.
• El Taco Loco, 1617 E. Front St., Port Angeles
Violation (15-point deduction): Employees are not properly trained in food safety as it relates to their assigned duties; no handwashing sink within 25 feet of the food prep area. Must educate employees on proper handwashing and routinely monitor the employee’s handwashing procedures to ensure they are effectively cleaning their hands. Also handwashing sink must be within 25 feet from the areas where food preparation, food dispensing and warewashing take place by July 11.
• Fast Burritos, 940 E. First St., Port Angeles
Violation (16-point deduction): Restaurant needs a food protection manager certification (obtain by July 31); person in charge did not have a valid food worker’s card (obtain by Aug. 11); “many” employee were missing or had expired food worker’s cards (obtain by Aug. 8); dishwasher not sanitizing properly. Must discontinue use of the low temperature chemical sanitizing ware wash machine until it is working properly, and initiate manual wash, rinse, and sanitize method to properly clean and sanitize equipment and utensils by July 12.
The health department also inspected four pools and reported no violations.
