Tuba Christmas
Plans are underway for the Olympic Peninsula’s first Tuba Christmas. Those of all ages who play tuba, sousaphone, baritone and euphonium can participate.
Registration is at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14 with rehearsal at 11 a.m. The concert, free to the public, will be at 1:45 p.m.
Tuba Christmas will take place at Field Arts and Events Hall, 201 West Front St. in Port Angeles.
Coordinator will be Tyler Benedict and the director will be Ken Bergevin.

Bring your instrument and be part of the fun making music as the Olympic Peninsula joins more than 300 communities worldwide in celebrating this festive holiday tradition.
Problem-solving games for kids
Children and families are invited to the Sequim Library Temporary Location, 609 W. Washington St., for special “Puzzle and Problem Solve” games and hands-on activities. The hour-long events will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22.
Geared toward students in grades K-6, activities will include Tangram tiles, weaving puzzles, the “Tiny Polka Dot” game, circle art and more.
Developed for libraries by the Washington State Library Circulating STEAM Kits program and the Seattle Universal Math Museum (SUMM), these games make math and spatial reasoning fun and interactive.

Book sale
The Port Angeles Friends of the Library (PAFOL) is holding its monthly Bag of Books sale from Thursday, Nov. 20 through Saturday Nov. 22. Store hours are 10:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. New books are added during the sale.
Books will be in the entry lobby of the Port Angeles Branch of NOLS. Patrons can bring their own PAFOL book bag and fill it for $3, fill a PAFOL provided bag for $5, or buy a new PAFOL book bag for $8 and fill it for free.
