Dennis Butcher passed away on November 1, 2025, at Olympic View Care in Port Angeles He was 81.
Dennis John Butcher was born on May 5, 1944, to Theodore and Anna (Westera) Butcher in Bellingham, Washington. From an early age he was known for his steadfast and hardworking demeanor- qualities that would enable his future success in his profession.
After finishing school, he met and married Barbara Green. The couple built a life together and started a family, welcoming three sons and two daughters. He shared with his family his love of the outdoors, particularly fishing, boating, and camping. He even owned his own plane, and flew it for ten years.
Dennis went on to have an illustrious career in the timber industry. He worked as a logger, as manager of the Butcher Pole Yard in Sequim, and as the owner/operator of The Wood Butcher, where he made firewood and kindling bundles.
Faith was very important to Dennis. He worshiped at the Sequim Bible Church and the Sequim Community Church. He supported the charitable works of the Gideons International, and was compassionate for the unborn.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Anna Butcher; and his son, Chad lsaac Butcher. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Butcher; his sons, Brian and Mark Butcher, his daughters, Michelle Gardner and Lynn Adams; brother, David Butcher; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held November 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sequim Community Church.
