The work of artists Mary Franchini and Jennifer Rose will be featured in a show called “Art from the Heart” at Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., during the month of February.
Rose, a master bead artist, said that beading puts her in her “happy place,” where she is grounded and at peace with the world.
“After a busy day at work or when life moves in turbulent ways, I sit down with my tiny little beads and before long all of that is gone,” she stated in a press release. “I love beading, and all of that love goes into every piece I create. A part of me is in each of my pieces.”
Franchini, who works in acrylics, believes that “all art comes from our hearts.”
She stated, “When I am in the studio working, I’m happy and I feel complete. I love working with acrylics. They dry fast and I can make changes easily.”
According to the press release, Franchini recently began working with oil pastels, a new challenge for the gallery member of more than 24 years.
Both artists invite the public to view their work, which will presented in the gallery windows throughout February.
Blue Whole Gallery is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Visit bluewholegallery.com for more information, and find the gallery on Facebook and Instagram.
