SEQUIM MIDDLE SCHOOL

Music auditions on Nov. 18-20 are for our second annual all-school musical. Last year, we performed Disney’s “Aladdin, Jr.” and this year will be Disney’s “The Little Mermaid, Jr.”

The Broadway Junior Series is a theatrical program where full-scale Broadway productions are condensed and somewhat simplified specifically for middle school-age performers. “Aladdin, Jr.” was such a success last year that we decided to do it again this year!

Robin Hall will direct and John Lorentzen will be the musical director. It will be performed in the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. March 5-6.

The auditions on Nov. 18-20 will take place right after school in the choir room #412.

SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOL

Fifty-five students departed by bus from Sequim at 5:45 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, to spend the day in Seattle attending the National College Fair. There are 300 colleges represented from all across the country and some international at this event.

There are some excellent workshops the students attend as well, which offer valuable information and tips on the college search, application, test information and financial aid process.

Career counselor Mitzi Sanders says this popular field trip is mostly business, but includes some fun sight-seeing. After the college fair, the group made a stop at Pike’s Place Market before heading back to the ferry.

Performances for the all school play, “Charley’s Aunt,” directed by Robin Hall, include Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are available at the door for $8/adults and $6/senior citizens, children and students with an ASB card.

Nov. 17 is winter sports turn-out for boys’ swimming/diving, wrestling, boys’ and girls’ basketball and cheerleading.
