Whispers from the Past, an opportunity to “meet” former Clallam County citizens, will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Ocean View Cemetery. The event is sponsored by the Clallam County Historical Society and Celebrate Heritage.

Clallam County’s rich heritage will come alive as participants learn about Lorraine Doebbler, Lower Elwha tribal member known as the guardian of Indian education in the city’s schools; Nell Morse Siegfried, who spent her early years at Mora; Inez Isbell, a pioneer who lived in the upper Elwha River valley; Felix Filion, a Civil War veteran and one of the founders of the Filion Mill; Bert Roose, who moved from Sweden and homesteaded at Ozette; and David Ferguson, one of the founders of the First Congregational Church in Port Angeles.

The cost of the tour is $20; space is limited. There will be a “goody” bag for each participant and refreshments will be served following the tour.

For more information and to register for the tour, call the society’s office at 452-2662 or send an e-mail to artifact@olypen.com. Tickets also are available at Odyssey Bookshop in Port Angeles.
