Habitat for Humanity seeks applicants for housing

Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County invites families to apply for upcoming housing opportunities in Port Angeles. Two informational meetings early in July are open to all members of the community who are interested in finding out more about applying for a Habitat home.

The first meeting is at 6 p.m. Monday, July 2, at the First Christian Church, 2606 S. Race St., Port Angeles. The second is in Sequim at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave.

In order to qualify, applicants need to be earning at 60 percent or less of the Clallam County median income, be capable of making monthly payments on a mortgage, and be willing to participate in the construction of their home.

“These meetings will kick of the process for selecting families for the next homes in our Maloney Heights subdivision in Port Angeles,” Habitat Executive Director Maitland Peet said.

“We hope to break ground for the next of those in early fall.”
