A whirlwind of activity

When Raelynn Opdyke heard about the tornado that swept through Moore, Okla., on May 20, she decided she had to do something.

“It was really sad,” she said. “And I thought, what if that happened to us? We wouldn’t have anything.”

With a little help from her friends, including Kaitlyn Davis and Camryn Wallen, she’s been gathering items for the victims of the disaster.

So far they’ve had a lot of help as they’ve gathered toiletries, shoes, household items, toys and cash.

Their Girl Scout Troop pitched in $50 (Troop 43854) and a local exercise class threw in more than $350.

Every penny goes to purchase and ship the goods to a local church in Moore that is helping with distribution.
