Sequim’s Destiny Staus finished eighth overall among 1A/2A finishers at the West Central Districts III on Saturday, Jan. 28, in Tacoma to earn a state berth.

She shot a 474 between three games going 173, 159 and a 142, and represents the Lady Wolves at the 1A/2A state bowling tournament this Thursday, Feb. 2, at Narrows Plaza Bowl in University Place.

She’s the first Sequim bowler to compete at state since Sage Brown placed 39th in 2011.

Sequim’s Dakota Henderson also competed at districts last Saturday, placing 30th by shooting 400 over three games with a 152, 129 and 119.
