Organizers for the fourth Price Ford Peanut Butter Drive last weekend say the event was a success.

Volunteers stood outside a handful of Sequim and Port Angeles grocery stores June 16-18 taking peanut butter jar donations.

Sequim Food Bank leaders set a goal of 2,700 jars and received 3,105 jars this year and $1,500 in donations, which they say equates to about 900 jars and just over 4,000 jars total.

Donations were taken at Grocery Outlet, QFC, Safeway and Walmart in Sequim and Country Aire Market and Walmart in Port Angeles.

Leaders at the Port Angeles Food Bank said they set a goal for 3,000 jars and they haven’t counted yet but anticipate they’ve at least met the goal.
