OAT Run set for April 28

The Olympic Adventure Trail Run (OAT Run) is a one-way trail 12K and half marathon on Saturday, April 28.

The half-marathon run is set for 9:30 a.m.; the 12k at 10:30 a.m. Highlights include running through the Pacific Northwest forest, a view up the Elwha Valley, water views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca over to Vancouver Island and a post-run party at Harbinger Winery. Cost for the half marathon is $50 (under age 18, $30). Cost for the 12k is $40 (younger than 18, $30).

Runners must take a shuttle from Harbinger Winery in Port Angeles to the starting line: The half marathon shuttle is at 8:45 a.m., the 12k at 10 a.m.

Organized by Peninsula Adventure Sports, the race features few aid stations and does not accommodate walkers.

A portion of event proceeds are donated to the Peninsula Trails Coalition, a local non-profit organization dedicated to the construction, maintenance, and promotion of the Olympic Discovery Trail and Olympic Adventure Trail, and also to Backcountry Horsemen of Washington Peninsula Chapter.

Runners get an OAT Run pint glass and barbecue lunch following the race.
