David Large will explain the design and construction of a particularly efficient Sequim residence when he presents “Engineering an Energy Efficient Home in Sequim” at the next Sequim Science Café, set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Paradise Restaurant, 703 N. Sequim Ave.

Large is a Caltech-educated engineer, author, and inventor, with a long career in electronics and a strong avocation in energy-efficient home construction. He will highlight design features, construction practices and appliance selections that lowered energy needs in what event organizers say is his most advanced home. The event also includes discussion of building alternatives and Large will point out which measures are applicable to upgrading of existing homes.
