The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in two recent attempted burglaries in the Lost Mountain area.
Law enforcement officials are seeking 28-year-old Collin J. Kennedy, who is described as a Caucasian male, 5-10, 175 pounds, with blue eyes. Officials say he may be living in his vehicle, a 1998 Black Acura two passenger car (license AMU6847); the vehicle has plastic right door window, a cracked windshield and a large “Seahawks” sticker on the back window.
Those with information on his whereabouts are asked to call the sheriff’s office dispatch at either 9-1-1 or the non-emergency number, 360-417-2459. Anonymous tips may be left on the sheriff department’s website at websrv7.clallam.net/cnmaster-c/nwformeml.php.
According to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, between 4:50 p.m. and 8:01 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, an individual tried to burglarize two different homes in the Lost Mountain area — though both burglaries were interrupted by the homeowners and the suspect was not able to get away with any possessions.
At about 4:50 p.m. on Nov. 28, owners of a residence about four miles up Lost Mountain Road returned to their residence found an unknown male inside their locked residence. One of the homeowners confronted the suspect and attempted to apprehend him, but the suspect was able to get away, fleeing into a wooded area.
Clallam deputies and Sequim Police officers set up a perimeter in the area and a Sequim Police K-9 team was deployed, but the suspect was able to clear the area before being apprehended.
A few hours later, at just after 8 p.m., deputies responded to another home in the Lost Mountain area for a report of a prowler; the residence was within a mile of the previous burglary.
In the second incident, the homeowner was at home during the attempted burglary and confronted the suspect, telling him to leave the property. Deputies scoured the area using a thermal imager to check multiple neighboring properties and wooded areas, remaining in the Lost Mountain area for most of the night patrolling.
