Milestone: First Step Family Support Center gets boosts from local groups, businesses

First Step Family Support Center announced donations from local groups and businesses to support the nonprofit’s community-focused programs.

First Step representatives recently accepted a $2,700 donation from Molina Healthcare that helped the organization purchase more than 130 warm coats and provided food vouchers for local children and families.

Sound Community Bank recently made a $1,000 donation to First Step’s Maternity Support Services Program that provides health education and support to low-income pregnant individuals.

Soroptomist International of Sequim also recently donated $750 to First Step. The gift was used to purchase books of empowerment for women and children in the community.

First Step Family Support Center offers maternity support, parenting education classes, home-visiting programs and center-based activities. All of their programs are offered at no charge to clients, and are made possible by generosity of the local community and funded in part by state and local funding opportunities, grants and Medicaid.
