A Sequim man was injured when the car he was riding in rolled and blocked U.S. Highway 101 for three hours on Saturday afternoon.
Jake Bonifazio, 20, was riding northbound on Taylor Cutoff Road in a 1993 Ford Explorer at about 4:15 p.m. when, according to a Washington State Patrol report, the driver — 25-year-old Adam Lauridsen of Port Angeles — failed to stop as they approached the highway. Lauridsen lost control of the vehicle and it rolled, coming to rest on its wheels.
Bonifazio was transported to Olympic Medical Center.
The state patrol said the cause of the rollover was driving under the influence (DUI).
Charges against Lauridsen are pending.
