Sequim’s Wolves look to finish their abridged 2021 season this week after capping their regular season slate of time trials on March 5.
Sequim swimmers had a great week with 15 improved season swims last week, head coach Sarah Thorson said.
Thorson said Madelyn Pickens and Claire Cronin in particular had strong efforts.
“Both swimmers continue to challenge themselves in the pool and improve their times weekly,” the Sequim coach said.
Mia Coffman continues to pace the Wolves in the pool with six individual top-20 times in the league rankings, including second in the 500 free (5:53) and third in the 200 free (2:11).
Lauren Sundin posted a trio of league top-20 times last week, in the 100 backstroke (12th, 1:12), the 100 free (14th, 1:04) and 100 butterfly (18th, 1:22).
Eislynn Flood posted a league top-20 time in the 200 free (18th, 2:31) last week, as did and Hi’ilei Robinson in the 50 free (19th, 29.85). Flood cut 11 second off her 500 free time that ranks 18th overall in league.
The Wolves and other league competitors were scheduled to compete with preliminaries at their own respective pools on March 9, with the top 12 individuals in each event competing in “finals” on March 11.
The finals event will deem where the athletes rank overall for the season within the Olympic League and all-league honors will be given, Thorson said.
