Lynne Armstrong, a local veteran artist known for her use of color and energetic brushstrokes, is the featured artist for the month of May at the Blue Whole Gallery with her “The Joy of Looking” exhibit.

Armstrong will be at the gallery, 129 W. Washington St., for the exhibit’s opening from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, May 7.

“From the ‘Joy of Cooking,’ my cooking bible for many years, came the title for this show,” Armstrong said.

“Looking at this beautiful world has provided the joy of my life. Painting the natural world is my way of sharing this joy.”

Blue Whole Gallery is open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Facial covering and social distancing are required in the gallery. For more information, see bluewholegallery.com.
