Fastpitch: Sequim mounts comeback, knocks off North Mason

Down 6-1 after three-and-a-half innings, Sequim’s Wolves kept chipping away at visiting North Mason’s lead and, with a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, came away with an 8-7 win at home on May 3.

Hannah Bates was 4-for-5 with two RBIs, Christy Grubb had three hits, Lili Fili was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Mia Pozernick had a double in the victory.

Angel Wagner spread out 14 North Mason hits over seven innings, giving up just two earned runs and one walk while striking out two.

Coming up

The Wolves were scheduled to host Olympic on May 10, their final home game of 2022.

Sequim is at Port Angeles on May 13.

The West Central District tourney is May 20-21, with six of 16 competing teams advancing to the state 2A tournament.
