Major changes are planned for Medicare, and Washington state health care advocates want to help locals know what they can do about them.
Jeff Johnson, co-president of Puget Sound Advocates for Retirement Action, leads “Patients Before Profits: The Fight to Protect Medicare,” a free in-person presentation set for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St.

Johnson, past president of the Washington State Labor Council, will lead the discuss how the “Medicare Trust Fund is being looted by insurance companies and Wall Street” and that “leveling the playing field and eliminating private sector fraud will strengthen traditional Medicare and make it less expensive.”
