Pepper Reymond’s research into the Lady of the Lake (Hallie Illingworth) recently earned the Sequim High senior a first place honor in the 2023 Hands on History Program.

William Roenig, a senior at Port Angeles High School, took second for his research about Deer Park.

The North Olympic History Center offers this program each year for Clallam County students in grades 9-12. The students presented their essays and public demonstrations with chosen topics.

Reymond will receive a $1,500 scholarship and Roenig a $750 scholarship.
