Accordion social on tap

The Sequim Accordion Social is set for 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St. All accordionists are invited to bring their instruments and play a selection or two. Accordion lovers and dancers are also welcome. A suggested $5 donation is requested to help with room rental.

The featured player will be Doris Osgood.

Dance at the Sequim Elks

Dawn Martin and Steve Anderson will play favorite songs from the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s from 6-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road. Russ Lowry will join them on drums.

Cost is $10 for Elks members, $12 for guests.

Out Loud Story Slam set

Out Loud Story Slam returns to Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave., at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10.

“Everyone is invited to drop their name in the bag to share a five-minute true personal story on the theme, however you interpret it,” organizer Jeanné Sparks said. “If your name gets pulled, you get on the stage to share.

“Of course, the event needs an audience, and everyone is welcome to come to listen, there is no pressure to be a teller.”

Cat’s Meow coming to The Fifth

Get ready to jive, swing and dance the afternoon away as The Fifth Avenue presents a live music event featuring The Cat’s Meow Band from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 500 West Hendrickson Road.

The Cat’s Meow Band is a local a quintet known for their toe-tapping swing-era and other danceable tunes. Tickets are $5 per person.

The Fifth Avenue’s culinary experts will also be on hand to prepare refreshments for event-goers.

‘Searching for Goya’ in PA

Soledad Barrio and Noche Flamenca presents “Searching for Goya” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, in the Donna M. Morris Theater at the Field Arts & Events Hall, 201 W. Front St., Port Angeles.

“Searching for Goya” features an ensemble of dancers, singers and musicians who push the boundaries of traditional flamenco with a theatrical flair that transports the audience on a journey through Goya’s imagination.

Tickets, ranging from $25 to $75, are available at fieldhallevents.org.
