Going Hall’s way?

Outgoing City Councilor Don Hall got a big sendoff Monday, Nov. 26.

Among his many honors, Hall received a street sign in his name from Public Works Director Paul Haines. It will be hung in the Public Works and Community Development building.

Haines also gave Hall a piece of asphalt from Fir Street, which Hall has advocated repairing in the past.

Hall’s son Kyle and several city staff and volunteers spoke kindly of Hall’s service to Sequim.

City Manager Steve Burkett said Hall has a lot of the characteristics of the people the community wants on the city council, people without a special agenda and with a drive to make Sequim special.

Hall was selected to the planning commission in October 2001 and served until June 2002 when he was appointed as a city councilor.

He was elected to a seat from 2004-2007.

He won again in 2010, with his term going through the end of 2013.

Hall said he plans to continue attending the city’s parks board meetings.

City councilors interview candidates for his seat at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, in the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St.
