Traveler’s Journal series kicks off next week

John Gussman journeyed to Iceland and will tell of his adventures on Feb. 20 as part of the “Traveler’s Journal” series presented by Peninsula Trails Coalition to raise money for Olympic Discovery Trail projects.

A trip to the Antarctica will be the topic of Leslie Saxon West’s presentation at the Dungeness River Nature Center on Feb. 27.

On Feb. 6, Belinda Shi will share details about her trip to Norway.

Traveler’s Journal, an adventure presentation speaker/photo series that also serves as a fundraiser for Olympic Discovery Trail projects, kicks off next week and will run through the month of February. Sessions will be held on Thursdays.

Here is the schedule:

Feb. 6 – “Norway,” a presentation by Belinda Shi.

Feb 13 – “In Search of Sea Wolves: Kayaking the Great Bear Rainforest,” by Dave Shreffler.

Feb. 20 – “Iceland,” presented by John Gussman.

Feb. 27 – “Siberian Arctic or Antarctica and South Georgia,” presented by Leslie Saxon West.

The series is presented by the Peninsula Trails Coalition. It raises funds to buy project supplies and food for volunteers working on Olympic Discovery Trail projects.

Shows are at 7 p.m. at the Dungeness River Nature Center, 1943 W. Hendrickson Road.

Admission is a suggested $10 donation for adults. Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to wear masks.
