Open house at the Lodge

The Lodge at Sherwood Village, 660 Evergreen Farm Way, Sequim, invites the public to its Gingerbread Holiday Open House from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11.

Tour decorated trees, enjoy holiday treats and special holiday treats. Also tour the Lodge and Cottages. Your donation to the Sequim Food Bank will enter you in a prize drawing.


Alpaca Christmas open house

Happy Valley Alpaca Ranch invites the public to share Wassail and cookies, mingle with the alpacas and experience the creativity of the many unique items fashioned from their fleece from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, and 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at 4629 Happy Valley Road, Sequim.


Climate change talk at Nash’s

Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness, will present a talk by Dr. Laura Lewis entitled “Agricultural Geography and Climate Change on the North Olympic Peninsula” at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.

The talk is free and open to the public. This talk will focus on current food production systems across the North Olympic Peninsula and how they may be impacted by potential changes in our climate.

Lewis is director of WSU Jefferson County Extension. She specializes in plant genetic resources and conservation. She has a Ph.D. in biogeography from the University of California-Davis, with expertise in centers of agricultural origin and diffusion.

Bill Mair Heating and Air has just opened at 80 Valley Farm Court in Sequim. Owners Bill and Anna Mair offer heating, ventilation and air conditioning services, installations, repairs and maintenance.

Gray attends conference

For the second consecutive year, Edward Jones financial advisor Cheryl Gray of Sequim attended Barron’s Winner’s Circle Top Women Advisors Summit held in Palm Beach, Fla., Dec. 3-5.

The conference, created to enhance the professional development of those who work with individual investors, represents the nation’s top women financial advisors, as well as industry decision-makers.
