Learning center now open

Sequim’s Little Explorers Early Learning Center, 191 West Sequim Bay Road, recently has opened and is licensed for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Owner Erin Bell and manager Helana Coddington believe that children have the right to learn within a context of exploration and play.

Free honeybee class set at Wild Birds

Wild Birds Unlimited in Gardiner hosts an introduction to honey beekeeping class, from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12. Mark Urnes of the North Olympic Beekeepers Association leads the class. He’ll cover the biology and natural history of the honeybee in the first half, and in the second deals with the keeping of honeybees.

Dine to Donate

The committee organizing the 2016 Sequim Safe and Sober Graduation Party hosts a Dine to Donate fundraiser from 8-11 a.m. and 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at the Black Bear Diner, 1471 E. Washington St., Sequim.

A portion of the proceeds support the senior party.

 

Olympic View Inn hires new general manager

After completing a top-to-bottom remodeling at Olympic View Inn, 830 W. Washington St., Sequim, owners Edward and Monica Boyd have hired Renee Rux as the inn’s new general manager.

Sequim QFC adds store updates

Quality Food Center, 990 E. Washington St., has recently updated the store, including new produce, meat and deli departments.

Attention lay guardians

The Guardian Institute, a new 501(c)3 nonprofit designed to provide much needed support and resources to guardianship clients as well as lay and professional guardians in Washington, recently received 10, $10 gift certificates to Adagio Bean & Leaf from Bob Reid of Reid & Johnson Motors. There will be a drawing on March 22 for these gift certificates.

This is a “coffee break” thank you to the court-appointed family and volunteer guardians in the community who selflessly care for disabled adults.

Sequim MFR has free program

Ulia Cummings, PT from Sequim MFR, has recently completed the workshop “Journey Into Healing” taught by Deepak Chopra and the course in “Primordial Sound Meditation” at The Chopra Center in Carlsbad, Calif. At 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, she will be sharing her experiences from the four-day program, talking about MFR and plantar fasciitis, and introducing basic stretching techniques to help eliminate plantar fasciitis pain. The presentation concludes with a 10-minute optional guided meditation.
