Judges at the 2013 Denver International Wine Competition, the premier double-blind, professionally judged wine competition in the Rocky Mountain region, have awarded three medals plus a “Best of Show” designation to Olympic Cellars.
The winery’s 2009 Cabernet Franc received a double-gold medal and “Best of Show” in the red wine category; the 2011 Barn Nouveau, a Malbec blend, won gold; and the 2009 Syrah scored silver.
More than 750 wines from around the world were entered in this competition which took place Sept. 7-8 at the Omni Interlaken Resort in Broomfield, Colo.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the awards,” says Lisa Martin, winery co-owner and operations manager.
Martin will fly to Denver to receive Olympic Cellars’ awards and to represent the winery in two celebratory events.
