Pride and ego
White House spokesperson Steven Cheung posted this about the Nobel Peace Prize decision: “President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives. He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will. The Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace.” This comes as Trump, the Republican administration and Republican representatives and senators:
1. Unofficially declared war on American cities
2. Sent federalized National Guard troops into cities
3. Allows ICE to abduct and deport citizens
4. Make political opponents criminals
5. Say at the United Nations Assembly: “Your countries are going to hell”
6. Stopped funding public and humanitarian services in the U.S. and the world
7. Refuse to negotiate with the Democrats so the government is shut down costing extra billions of dollars
8. Continue tariff taxes paid by American importers and the American public
These actions go on and on! Don’t feel helpless or hopeless!
1. Keep in touch with family and friends providing support
2. Contact elected officials, express opinions. Thank them for supporting issues you believe in
3. Support organizations like the food bank, and the Boys and Girls Club
4. Become active in politics — vote
5. Join organizations that support or protect health, safety and the common good
6. Join Indivisible rallies and show your dissatisfaction with the current Republican administration.

Rule of law
The top four-star Navy Admiral, at the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) in South America, Admiral Alvin Holsey resigned on 10/16. His resignation came after the fifth drone strike occurred on a suspected drug boat from Venezuela.
Previously the U.S. Coast Guard interdicted suspected drug boats, boarded these boats, investigated, and verified there were illegal drugs before apprehending the drug smugglers, and seizing the drugs as evidence. To blow these boats out of the water with drone strikes violates common sense and the international rule of law.
There is a correct way to interdict suspected drug boats in international waters as we have always done, not the extreme unlawful Trump-Hegseth authoritarian way, which makes the U.S. an international outlaw.
Similarly, in our states and cities, while there is no crime that is good, the way to handle and control crime is through civilian authorities, not the extreme unlawful Trump-Hegseth authoritarian way, to federalize and deploy the National Guard, falsely stating the need to invoke the Insurrection Act, claiming the civilian authorities are unable to maintain control.
Does Donald Trump have other reasons for invoking the Insurrection Act in 2026 or 2028? The most recent time when the Insurrection Act should have correctly been utilized was on 1/6/2021, when President Trump incited an insurrection against our Capitol, causing death and destruction, and he did this in order to unlawfully and unconstitutionally remain in office. Trump needs to follow the rule of law and always put country over party, or do the honorable thing and resign now.
