Read this week’s “Letters to the Editor” in the green edition of the Sequim Gazette.
France had gun registration. World War II arrived. Germany invaded France, obtained the registration lists, stormed through the country picking up arms, if denied ownership, or refused they were executed on the spot.
My wife and I have known Kim Yacklin for over 20 years. She is exactly what we need in the Auditor’s Office, someone who has a high level of understanding of the operations of the county and someone who has the integrity, professionalism and intelligence to run a department.

As with most folks at this point in an election campaign, I just want it to end. I’m tired of reading and hearing the charges and countercharges, the nasty Letters to the Editor and the bitter, personal attacks some candidates launch against their opponents. Some of these aspiring officeholders need to learn that there really is a difference between one’s “opponent” and an “enemy.”
It is always interesting to watch disparate politicians at the end of their failed campaigns. Almost instinctively, they dive head-first into the gutter and start making personal attacks throwing mud. Such is the case with Cathy Marshall. She has made numerous false accusations about Judge (Rick) Porter. Wisely, Judge Porter has not reciprocated; nor will I.
The local population, especially in Sequim, is intelligent, well-educated, mostly financially comfortable and old enough to appreciate the prosperity that used to be.
