Library hosts reception

The Sequim Library joins Sequim’s First Friday Art Walk from 5:30-8 p.m. Aug. 3 when it features painter

Saundra Cutsinger at an after-hours reception. Music is provided by Cort and Kia Armstrong. Limited library services will be available

Hofmann opens show

The Gallery at the Fifth Avenue, 500 W. Hendrickson St., Sequim hosts a reception from 1-3 p.m. Sunday Aug. 5, to open its showing of artwork by Nancy Hofmann. County Fair hosts talent show.

 

Enter fair talent show

The Clallam County Fair second annual Variety and Talent Show is from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Wilder Community Stage. Entry deadline is Aug. 3. See www.clallamcountyfair.com.

 

‘Wine and Music’ event returns

The Port Angeles Symphony and Camaraderie Cellars once again host their “Wine and Music” event at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Camaraderie Cellars, 334 Benson Road, Port Angeles. Music by special ensembles from the symphony accompanies award-winning wines and picnic fare. Bring lawn chairs.

Tickets are $75. Call 457-5579 for reservations. Proceeds support the symphony.

 

MAC seeks glass art

The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley invites entries for its 2012 Glass Art Juried Show, on display Sept. 4-29. Artists 18 or older working in any area of contemporary glass art and mixed media pieces should send entries in digital file format by Aug. 10. Entry fee is $15 for up to three pieces ($10 MAC members). Find entry forms at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St.,Sequim, and at www.macsequim.org. Call 683-8110 with questions.

 

Call for inspired artists

Artists who have been challenged by cancer are invited to submit works in any media by Aug. 15 for the exhibition “Embracing Life through Art-The Journey Back,” in October. Applications are at the Assured Hospice of Sequim office,24 Lee Chatfield Way, Sequim and the Landings Art Gallery, 115 E. Railroad Ave., Port Angeles. No fee for entries.

 

 

Sequim Arts holds ‘5×7’ show

All artists are invited to donate works for the Sequim Arts 5×7 Art Show, which runs Sept.3-30. Applications and 5-inch by 7-inch gessoed panels are available at the Summer Showcase Gallery, 163 W. Washington St. All entries will be exhibited (artist’s name on back only) and offered for sale for $20 as a fundraiser for arts in the schools and community.
