Some of Sequim’s alumni are putting on a show from the past for the students of today and tomorrow.

“Senior Night Live,” a family friendly comedy/variety show, features several recent graduates putting on 16 sketches and performing musical numbers for three performances July 19-20.

Director Robin Hall said she knew several former high school actors were available and that they would have an easy time getting back into old roles and taking on new parts.

Skits range from Abbott and Costello to Monty Python to musical numbers such as “Men in Tights.”

Singer Rachel Chumley is flying in especially to perform the song “You Belong in Sequim.”

James Willis, a 2010 Sequim graduate, said this performance feels more personal because the alumni are doing it separate from the high school.

“We’re reinventing it to do the way we want to,” Willis said.

“And for my sake, I feel like I’m putting a lot more into it. Even some of the jokes I just get now. Danny (Hall, a 2010 graduate) and I had a moment in ‘Rinse the blood off my toga’ where we just got it.”

One big draw for the event is that its $5 entry helps the recently formed nonprofit Sequim High School Operetta Boosters Club.

Jim Stoffer, operetta publicity manager, said the group will help the spring operetta and high school drama students buy sound equipment, make trips to nearby theater productions, and cover script expenses.

Hall said one goal is to buy a cyclorama, a large sheet for projecting lights that change color. They had to borrow one for “Footloose” last spring.

“Your $5 is worth way more than that when you see this,” Hall said of the production.

“It’s a good opportunity to get out of the rain or sun and laugh after the lavender events.”

Actors participating include: Bailey Bryan, Brendan Carpenter, Patrick Carpenter, Rachel Chumley, Nick Fazio, Danny Hall, Joey Hall, Victoria Hall, Ben Heintz, Emanuel Herrera, Christie Honore, Anne Lorentzen, Kathryn Lorentzen, Sydney Negus, Alexandria Seay, Sarah Stoffer and James Willis.
