Renowned Washington author and former Port Angeles resident Mary Daheim appears at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Raymond Carver Room at the Port Angeles Main Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

Daheim will discuss her work and writing process and answer audience questions. She is the author of 55 books and counting, writes cozy mysteries set in locations based on Washington towns and cities, as well as historical romances. A Seattle resident, Daheim earned a degree in journalism from the University of Washington. She later lived in Port Angeles and worked as a reporter for the Peninsula Daily News.

Daheim’s mystery Bed and Breakfast series begins with “Just Desserts” and is set in fictional towns based on Puget Sound locations. Her Emma Lord mystery series is inspired by the Cascade ghost-town of Alpine and begins with the title, “The Alpine Advocate.” Several of Daheim’s historical romance works recently have been rereleased with new and alternate titles.
