Sequim’s First Friday Art Walk has company downtown on July 5.
The free downtown arts event (5-8 p.m.) coincides with the Centennial “Street Dance of the Century” (6-10 p.m. Sequim Avenue between Cedar and Washington streets), which celebrates the 1970s with music by The Magic Bus and The Guy Johnson Band. Take a break at 5:30 p.m. to be part of Sequim’s community photo.
The art walk theme color is purple, a nod to the upcoming Lavender Weekend, and participants will be flaunting all shades as they visit the art exhibits sprinkled around downtown Sequim. Entry is free and venues often feature live music, snacks and a chance to meet the artists.
The First Friday Art Walk Sequim is free and self-guided, a production of unique as you/Renne Emiko Brock-Richmond.

Included in the July art walk are these venues:
• In their group show “Celebrate!” the artists of the cooperative Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., mark the Sequim Centennial with art about Sequim and the Dungeness Valley. Reception from 5-8 p.m. www.bluewholegallery.com.
• Clear Image Sequim (framing and photography solutions) celebrates its own one-year anniversary, showcasing Randall Tomaras’ lavender prints at 518 N. Sequim Ave.
• Pacific Mist Books, 121 W. Washington St., presents artwork by JWyatt Art and a tasting of local We Do Fine Fudge.
• Wind Rose Cellars invites you to see paintings by Lee Oskar and Henning Erben at 143 W. Washington St. Enjoy live music by Bill Volmut and sample award-winning wines as well.
• New to the art walk is Phil Tauran’s Photography Studio & Gallery at 155-B W. Cedar St.
• The Museum & Arts Center has the Northwest Collage Society Summer Exhibit at 175 W. Cedar St.
• Gallery on the Walls showcases paintings by Sally Cays and Patricia Taynton at 128 E. Washington St. inside the Sequim Vision Center.
• R&T Crystals and Beads will have jewelry demonstrations by Paulette Hill and Gail McLain at 158 E. Bell St.
• LARC Gallery, 166 E. Bell St., represents more than 20 local artists. Featured this month are Shirley Mercer and Mary Leone.
• Sunshine Cafe, 135 W. Washington St., shows work by the late Tim Quinn.
• Designs by Thomas, 337 W. Washington St., hosts works by Sallie and Randy Radock.
• Doodlebugs, 138 W. Washington St., holds artistic Happy Hour on Fridays. Make some art of your own.
