Ceres Dance Theatre brings ‘Chandelier’ to Sequim

Ceres Dance Theatre introduces “Chandelier,” a new production at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414  N. Sequim Ave., Sequim. The company will be presenting two short previews at 5 p.m. Aug. 7 and Sept. 4 and a full production at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26.

The show will feature a “Ceres” of dance numbers (tap, ballet and jazz) performed by 16-year-old principal dancer Rose Kelly. It will pass through time, beginning in the “Golden Age of Entertainment” (the early 1930s-1950s) and ending in dance of today.

Numbers are inspired by all-American stars as Rosemary Clooney, Cyd Charisse, Gene Kelly, Barbra Streisand, Tim McGraw and Emily West. Kelly will provide 10 percent of the proceeds to “The Backpack Program,” a food assistance organization for children with low income families.

The previews are by donation and tickets for full production, available at the OTA box office, are $18.
