The Clallam County Fair, in conjunction with celebrating the 100th county fair, invites the public to submit nominations for the Farm Family of the Year Award.

Farms may enter and nominate themselves as well. The award will be presented at the Clallam County Fair on Aug. 15. Along with sponsor Agnew Grocery Store, the fair seeks to honor a Clallam County farm family that epitomizes the spirit of the industry and to show appreciation for hard-working Clallam County families committed to the agriculture and aquaculture.

Nominations are due July 1. They should include details about the family and how they fulfill the following criteria:

• Production of quality of Clallam County-grown products (not based on quantity)

• Community involvement (civic organizations, school, sports)

• Involvement in agriculture industry organizations (local, state, federal)

• Overall farm family image, farming history and unique or special production
