Events

Sequim High School presents the comedy “Charley’s Aunt” as its all-school play at 7 p.m. Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 14 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 15. Tickets are available at the door and are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors, children and students with an ASB card. The play is directed by Robin Hall and features Ben Heintz, Sarah Isenberger, Hunter Cauffman, Niki McElhose, David Burgher, Dylan DePrati, Jared Kneidl, Mikeale Baker, Selesha McKibbon and Victoria Hall.

Olympic Theatre Arts production of “Harvey” opens on Nov. 7 with champagne reception following the performance. It will run for three consecutive weeks with performances on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. The $10 preview (free for OTA members) is Nov. 6 and Pay What You Will is Nov. 13. All performances are at Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave. in Sequim. Peninsula Friends of Animals invites the public to join members for a Dining Benefit Event at Smuggler’s Landing, 115 E. Railroad Ave., Port Angeles from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29. Local artists will display their works at the ninth annual Port Townsend Woodworkers Show, Nov. 1-2. Organized and presented by The SplinterGroup, the show takes place 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at the Marvin G. Shields Post 26 American Legion Hall, 209 Monroe St. in downtown Port Townsend. Admission is free to the public.

The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley is issuing a call for artists for its December show, “A Holiday Happening: Small Works & Holiday Gifts for Sale.” All work must be for sale and under $100. The show runs Dec. 3-13. MAC members may submit up to 10 pieces for $5; non-members up to 10 pieces for $10. All media will be accepted, including, but not limited to, watercolor, oil, acrylic, pencil, pen and ink, pastel, collage, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, fine arts textiles, photography and fine crafts, etc. This show supports exhibits and programs for 2015. Artist applications are available at 175 W. Cedar St., Sequim, or online at www.macsequim.org. Drop off works from noon-2 p.m. Nov. 30 and 10 a.m.-noon Dec. 1.

Olympic Theatre Arts will hold auditions for the upcoming musical production “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” by Joe DiPietro with music by Jimmy Roberts. Performance dates will be Jan. 30-Feb. 15, 2015. OTA will be looking to fill two female and two male roles — each of which will play up to 18 different characters ranging in age from seven to 70. Auditions will consist of cold readings as well as the singing of one verse from a song of choice, but not a number from this musical. Auditions will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, and/or at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, in Olympic Theatre Arts Center Gathering Hall,414 N.
