Milestone: Sequim Soroptimists give Live Your Dream awards

Soroptimist International of Sequim last week announced their group’s 2023 Live Your Dream Award recipients, to a pair of Sequim residents..

This award is given to a woman who is the primary financial support for herself and her dependents, has financial need and is enrolled in a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.

The 2023 awards went to Corenna Messinger and Shawna Bebo, who both received $2,000.

Messinger is a resident of Sequim and is a single parent. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program at Peninsula College and came with a background as a medical assistant. Her goal is to work in obstetrical care.

Bebo lives in Sequim and has two children and is enrolled in Peninsula College’s nursing program and will be graduating in June. Her goal is to take her nursing degree and work in the addiction field.

In addition to these two awards, Soroptimists awarded $1,000 to Rylie Booth, who was a recipient of the 2022 Live Your Dream Award, to provide ongoing support for her education.
