NorthWest Woman’s Chorale sets spring concert

The NorthWest Woman’s Chorale is preparing a heartwarming evening of woman’s choral music with “Sing Harmony Into Our Lives,” the group’s spring concert set for 7-8 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a pre-concert talk at 6:45 p.m.

Under direction of Joy Lingerfelt and in collaboration with pianist Kristin Quigley Brye, the songs — from a chant to a jazz piece — show the versatility of the choral group chorale members say.

“The selections describe deep emotions from buoyant happiness to solemn preparation for death, with a jazzy departure along the way,” they said.

Selections on tap for the spring concert include: Piece Jackson Berkey’s “God Be In My Head,” “The Lake of Innisfree” by Eleanor Daley, “Music in My Mother’s House” by Stuart Stotts, Daniel Gawthrop’s “Sing Me To Heaven,” “Set Me As A Seal” by Richard Nance, “Flight Song” by Kim Andre Arnesen and Euan Tait“How Do I Love Thee?” by Nathan Christensen, and to close, Joni Jensen’s “Turning.”
