Here is what’s in store at your library during March. For a calendar of the free, fun and educational events taking place at the North Olympic Library System this winter, see www.nols.org/events.

First Friday Art Walk

Visit the Sequim Library this Friday, March 4, for an after-hours celebration featuring live tunes and fine art! The March Art Walk artist reception begins at 6 p.m. with an interactive storytelling program presented by featured artist Richard Jesse Watson, whose illustrations will be on display at the library through May 30.

Local band Bread and Gravy performs at 6:30 p.m. Based on the Olympic Peninsula, Bread and Gravy is the husband and wife duo of Jess and Stephanie Doenges.

Their music alternates between powerful rock and soulful blues to smooth bluegrass and good old-fashioned Americana.

Fun, free: Family Flicks!

Family Flicks provides family entertainment, popcorn and fun movie trivia at an affordable price — free! The library will next screen the 2009 Pixar-animated film “Up” at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5. “Up” tells the story of a 78-year-old salesman who one day decides to tie thousands of balloons to his house and fly up, up and away for an adventure in the South American wilderness.

Explore!

The Explore! program series offers participants an introduction to a range of exciting and fun activities on the Olympic Peninsula and beyond.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, experts from Ben’s Bikes will visit the library to discuss the ins and outs of basic bicycle maintenance. Participants will learn how to perform simple roadside repairs and other quick fixes to keep rolling on the trails this spring.

The Explore! series continues throughout this winter and spring. Upcoming free programs will feature the rhythm of TaKeTiNa and backyard birding.

For a full schedule, visit www.nols.org and select “Events” and “Sequim.” As always, the library is ever thankful to the Friends of Sequim Library for the ability to offer these and other programs for families and youth.
