Oltmpic Peninsula Men’s Chorus sets barbershop, doo wop shows for May 6

The Olympic Peninsula Men’s Chorus, in conjunction with Olympic Theatre Arts in Sequim, are presenting two shows — “Barbershop and Doo Wop” — on May 6.

Under the direction of Jim Davis, the chorus will be performing with special appearances by the quartet No Batteries Required and Willy Woods and his human.

The chorus and quartet will be singing a variety of songs, including “Home on the Range,” “San Francisco Bay Blues” and “Goodnight Sweetheart.”

The audience also will be asked to participate in sing-along numbers including “You Are My Sunshine.”

The Doo Wop portion of the shows will be covered by the quartet No Batteries Required which will include “Only You,” “Come Go With Me” and “Little Darlin.”

Show times are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. All tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Olympic Theatre Arts office at 414 N. Sequim Ave., or tickets can be purchased at the door.

All proceeds from these shows will go to support Olympic Theatre Arts and its mission to entertain, educate and inspire community involvement through experiences in the arts.

The Olympic Peninsula Men’s Chorus is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. It performs across the peninsula, singing a cappella barbershop songs. Men of all ages are welcome to drop in to a rehearsal on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Olympic Theatre Arts.
