PA Players open 65th season this weekend

Five female bank tellers come together to share their secrets, dreams, anxieties and a lot of laughter in the Port Angeles Community Players’ first show for its 65th season “Five Tellers Dancing In the Rain.”

Director Lynne Murphy makes her directing debut at the playhouse, 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd., after acting in plays for more than 20 years.

The show stars Debbie Bourquin, Mindy Gelder, Nancy Gooch, Cheryl Koenig, and Jessica Swenson as bank tellers in a Mississippi bank as they begin to heal broken arms and broken hearts, find new meaning in old friendships and discover new paths in their lives.

“The play is very eye opening, and has something to teach us, about ourselves in a very humorous way,” Murphy said.

“Five Tellers” begins at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22-23, 26, 29-30, Oct. 3, 6-7; and 2 p.m. Sept. 24, Oct. 1 and 8.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $8 for students. Tuesday performances cost $15 for reserved seats or $8 at the door for festival seating. Tickets are also available at pacommunityplayers.com, or at Brocante Antiques in Port Angeles.

The play has mature language and content and is not recommended for children.
